The Australian Kaddish Service is affiliated with Chabad on Carlisle - the Jewish Russian Community Centre, the funds paid for the Service being directed to the Centre's activities.
Founded in 1980, the Centre was created to provide much needed assistance to the new immigrants arriving then in waves from the Soviet Union. Aid was given in settling down in the new country and Jewish education and religious guidance, which had been impossible under Soviet rule, were eagerly welcomed by the new arrivals.
Ever since then, the Jewish Russian Community Centre's activities have continued to expand as the community flourishes. For more information, see the Centre's website at www.chabadoncarlisle.com.au.
